Module 3: Preparation and Research

In the segment, we will explore what is expected of a speaker to know the focus will be on: The age, gender, and occupation of the audience The audience knowledge of the subject The audience attitude towards the subject And finally getting information from the organisers about the length of the intended speech and question answer sessions. The session also emphasises on knowing the availability of technical equipment ; the size of the audience and room layout.

Module 4- Gathering Your Material

Gathering Your Material, learners will explore one of the most crucial stages of speech preparation—collecting, researching, and organizing content that captivates an audience. This module focuses on transforming vague ideas into well-structured, engaging material. Learners will begin by brainstorming freely, jotting down their initial thoughts without fear of imperfection, and then refine their ideas through systematic research. The module highlights the importance of understanding the audience's needs, addressing their questions, and tailoring content to their expectations. It also emphasizes adding relatable elements such as humor, quotes, anecdotes, and credible facts to keep the audience engaged and invested in the speech. Learners will discover practical strategies for establishing their credentials modestly yet convincingly, preparing for likely audience questions, and balancing data with storytelling to make their speeches informative yet entertaining. Module 6: Structuring a Speech
